Julian Smith is a Senior Associate at McCune & Harber and Head of the firm’s Entertainment Practice focusing on writers, producers, podcasts and production companies. His duties include conducting research for a variety of legal and entertainment issues including copyright law, TV and film production law, podcast formation, talent agencies and representation, contract interpretation, employment law, and intellectual property.

Currently Mr. Smith covers Civil Litigation matters for Public and Private Entity clients including, the Long Beach Unified School District, Costco Corporation, El Super/Bodega Latina Supermarkets, the YMCA, KBS Custodial Services, Redlands USD, Alhambra USD, LAUSD, Jurupa USD, Basset USD, and CASA of Los Angeles, etc.

Mr. Smith has performed wide-ranging litigation duties which include, general negligence, dangerous condition of public property, transportation law, indemnity enforcement, wage and hour actions, wrongful termination, disability discrimination, and sexual abuse and harassment.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Smith was General Counsel for advertising and technology companies where he handled complex litigation and business matters including wage and hour, wrongful termination, internet advertising publishing, and contract disputes. Mr. Smith also has negotiated, drafted, and executed merchandise agreements for sports and entertainment figures, including endorsement opportunities, personal appearances, and speaking engagements for over 150 MLB athletes.
