Amy A. Evenstad is a partner at McCune & Harber. At McCune & Harber, Mrs. Evenstad focuses on defending public entities and corporate clients in state and federal court in every stage of litigation, including trials and appeals. She has successfully negotiated numerous settlements in personal injury matters, often obtaining more favorable results than expected. She has obtained dismissals of multiple cases through demurrers, settlement negotiations, and motions for summary judgment.
 
She has successfully and professionally handled many cases with sensitive topics, including sexual abuse matters. Mrs. Evenstad has extensive experience litigating cases in federal court, including knowledge of Title IX and Section 1983 jurisprudence, and has hosted MCLE seminars explaining the unique differences between state and federal court litigation with strategies to be employed in both venues. She has unique knowledge defending special education claims, including those alleging violations of Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Mrs. Evenstad is experienced in constitutional issues and has prevailed on multiple anti-SLAPP motions. She has opposed well-known members of the plaintiffs’ bar in jury trials involving wrongful death claims and catastrophic injuries, with two trial wins under her belt. She has done significant appellate work, and successfully argued in front of both the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeals.
